Here are a few spring cleaning suggestions…

Go from top to bottom

Start by dusting things that are high up. A lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner can get right into the corners of your ceiling. Now work your way down. Top of cabinets. Clean fan blades. Clean your curtains or blinds. Wipe down cabinets and cupboards. Then finish at the bottom by cleaning the skirting boards. 

Clean your appliances

Now clean your appliances. This keeps everything hygienic, and it should help them last longer. So, , clear the crumbs out of your toaster, descale the kettle, wipe the microwave and change the filter in your water jug. 

Whilst in the kitchen, give the dishes a clean. Not just the dirty dishes in the sin - empty out all of your cupboards, and get every plate, pot, pan and item of cutlery cleaned. 

If you have a self-cleaning oven, it saves loads of time and effort. The function is also known as ‘pyrolytic cleaning’, and it heats the insides of the oven up to 500ºC. Grease is burnt off the sides, and scraps of food are reduced to ash. You just sweep it away at the end. 

Wash anything you touch

It’s important to keep anything you touch clean. This includes door and cabinet handles and devices like tablets or phones.  Don’t use household cleaners on devices. Use appropriate cleaners. 

Clean your mattress

You change your sheets regularly, but when did you last clean your mattress? Give it a vacuum, then wipe it down, and finish off with disinfectant spray.
