How To Remove Stains From Your Clothes
Need help getting your clothes clean? Here are some practical tips to get rid of the most stubborn stains.
Red Wine
If possible, immediately rinse the stain with water and pat it with a cloth to soak up as much of the liquid as possible. Make a paste out of stain remover and water and leave it to soak for an hour. Rinse and repeat then wash as per the label instructions.
Grass
Pre-treat the marks with stain remover, or a paste of biological washing powder and water, then wash as normal.
Lipstick
Hairspray works wonders for lipstick stains. Spray on the mark and leave it for 15 minutes. Dip a cloth in warm water and then dab at the stain before washing as usual.
Tea/coffee
Rinse with cold water and pour on liquid detergent – dabbing at it lightly. Allow it to soak for 30 minutes then rise and follow with a wash.
Baby sick
Baby sick is actually quite easy to remove. Simply treat it with an oxygen-based stain remover and soak it for at least an hour. Rinse and then wash as per the label.
Chocolate
Mix powder detergent with warm water and apply to the stain. Let it sit for 15 minutes before washing it.
Ink
Apply aerosol hairspray or antibacterial hand-wash to the ink stain and then wash at the usual temperature while it is still wet.
Mud
Shake off as much dried mud as you can then blot liquid detergent into the stain. Once the mud looks to be gone, wash as usual.
